Girdled: Both of these prints on grey BFK were made the same way. We had both silkscreen films of the plants (printed in a cream color) and polymer plates of the plants (printed in a whitish tone) made in a line screen halftone- as opposed to a dot half tone. They had a very interesting effect on how the image looked, making it look like it could have been an image from a television, as opposed to the typical halftone of a photograph. We trapped the images with a metallic silver border, and I think the combination of all the ink tone with the tone of the paper the print had a silver gelatin photographic look to it when we finished.
Royal: This was a three color silkscreen image that Grayson had some films made for at Pratt, with a circular border to accent the mariner theme. The films were also output with a line screen to give the image a different look for those used to the typical halftone.
