Fireworks: Mae has a history of working with these images, matching intriguing color with these moments in our memories. We first printed down a mostly solid block with the treelined landscape and a few cuts taken out onto some great vintage paper. Next another woodblock was printed overtop in a transparent blue-violet that contained the foreground bodies laying on the lawn. After this we applied a light pochoir layer through some mylar and finished with a bright silkscreen layer, just offset from the pochoir.
One Two I Don't: We dove right into this image, with Mae cutting the wave blocks and printing. As she reduced the blocks she focused on the colors you see when light passes through green glass. After printing four green layers, the final layer for the path was printed in a brown.
